Connecticut was home to Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Noah Webster.

Connecticut has a large Italian-American population, but also has communities of Puerto Rican, Portuguese, Jamaican, Indian, Polish, and Chinese people.

Hartford has been the capital of Connecticut since 1875.
