Yellowstone is the only place in the United States where bison have lived continuously since prehistoric times.
Yellowstone has about 290 waterfalls, including the Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, which is 308 feet tall.
Yellowstone has many different types of animals
Yellowstone is home to at least 67 species of mammals, including bison, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and white-tailed deer. It also has about 300 species of birds and 16 species of fish.
Yellowstone is larger than Rhode Island and Delaware combined, covering 63 miles north to south and 54 miles east to west.
Yellowstone was managed by the United States Army for three decades
